“Sweet spot and training based on FTP never worked for me. Discovering how my body actually worked suddenly transformed my riding.”
Where they started
Came to cycling relatively late. Joined Qdos as a 4th cat racer with raw talent but training that wasn't working — sweet spot and FTP-based approaches weren't producing results because they didn't match how her physiology actually functioned.
What changed
Identifying her extremely high anaerobic capacity and shifting to a CP/W' model transformed her training. Rather than fighting her physiology, the approach was built around it — punchy, high-intensity work with the right understanding of effort and recovery.
Where they are now
Retired from professional racing after reaching UCI Continental level and competing at World Tour races. Now a coach within Qdos, bringing her own experience of balancing work and training to the fitness and longevity audience.
In their words
“I spent years doing the sessions everyone said I should be doing — sweet spot blocks, long threshold efforts — and just never responding the way I expected. It was frustrating because I was putting the work in. When we shifted the approach and started training around how my body actually works, everything clicked. I started hitting numbers I hadn't hit before and actually enjoying training again. That understanding of my own physiology is something I carry with me now, even now I no longer compete at the same level.
